Pam module description

Purpose

Pam module it used for easier acces to PAM services form YaST modules.

Interface for yast2-pam

Some of the PAM settings are configured via files in /etc/security directory; for these the security agent (based on agent-ini) is used. See it's source here.
The YaST interface for this agent is provided by PamSettings module.

yast2-pam package also contains the module for Autologin configuration and module for configuration of /etc/nsswitch.conf.
